Sathya Sai Education

Sathya Sai Baba, spiritual master of India , formulates that Peace in the world will be achieved practicing Human Values : Truth, Rectitude, Peace, Love and Non Violence. For this, He proposes to implement a teaching philosophy and method He calls Educare. Educare has its origin in the Latin word “Educare” which means to extract.

“Educare has two aspects, the worldly one and the spiritual one. The worldly education develops the latent knowledge related to the physical world. The spiritual education brings to shine the inner Divinity inherent to man. Therefore both, the worldly and the spiritual education are essential, without them human life has no value.

The guiding principles of the term Educare, as Sai Baba uses them are:

Divinity is love and it is the underlying current of all Human Values.
Educare extracts the Human Values from within the Being and puts them into action in daily life.
The purpose of education is to lead a thoroughly human and spiritual life.
The purpose of education is character, and character manifests itself as unity of thought, word and action.

Sathya Sai Baba emphasizes an adequate education for children and youth. Besides stressing the goal of academic excellence, Sathya Sai Baba’s system of “Integral Education” (Educare Program) is designed to promote self-confidence, self- discipline and selfless service to community.

The purpose of education is to develop character

He has established an educational system model, that includes: primary and secondary schools, and an accredited University with facilities in three different cities in India: Puttaparthi, Whitefield and Anantapur. High grade, masters and doctorates are offered. Students do not pay any kind of money and enrolment is open for everybody, without any race, religion or economic condition distinction.

At present there are 99 Sathya Sai schools in India and 41 Sathya Sai schools in 26 countries outside India.

The main purpose of establishing Sathya Sai Schools is to provide a qualified education permeated with human values to children that otherwise would not have access to it.
